Overview of International Bank Transfers in Turkey (2026)

The SWIFT international payment network serves as the vital financial gateway for foreign capital inflows, property acquisitions, and corporate trade settlements into Turkey.

Commencing March 2026, Turkey's Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK) and the Central Bank (TCMB) instituted comprehensive regulatory reforms governing electronic transfers to ensure stringent anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing (CTF) transparency.

2026 MASAK Regulatory Transfer Tier Thresholds

  • Transfers Exceeding 400,000 TRY: Mandatory submission of an explicit transaction purpose description of at least 20 characters. Vague terms like "payment" result in automatic suspension.
  • Transfers Between 2M TRY and 20M TRY: Mandatory completion of an official Cash Transaction Declaration Form (Nakit İşlem Beyan Formu) identifying source of capital.
  • Transfers Exceeding 20M TRY: Mandatory submission of authenticated supporting instruments (e.g. registered title deeds, commercial invoices, or judicial inheritance rulings).
