Residence in Turkey: Non-receipt of applications via mail

According to the recent decisions announced by the General Directorate of Migration Management, affiliated with the Ministry of the Interior of Turkey, the procedures for receiving applications for residence in Turkey from foreigners by mail have been completed, as of February 15, 2021.

The General Directorate of Immigration Management in Turkey announced that it will not receive residence applications from foreigners by mail and that this system will be terminated as of February 15, 2021.

On the basis of this decision, foreigners wishing to take up residence will be required to attend the Directorate of Immigration in the state where he resides, on the date specified by the system.

The Directorate General of Migration Management noted that applications submitted by mail, before 15.02.2021, will be taken into account and implemented by the Directorate of Immigration, without the trouble of the personal presence of the residence owner.

Stressing that foreigners who had applied for a residence permit from various departments before 15.02.2021 must submit their documents to the directorates of the Department of Immigration, in the States in which they resided, as shown in the table below, and in line with information sent through SMS or e-mail.
